Thanks to our supporters who helped us raise £260 in the October 2023 WorkoutForWasteWarriors! It’s not enough for us to develop further Waste Banks but will enable us to advise and monitor the existing Waste Banks while we search for further resources – all ideas are welcome.
Ending in November, a £1,000 Micro-grant from Chatham House enabled us to develop a new waste bank at Kondangjajar Village, West Java, Indonesia. 200 villagers (5.6% of the population) were actively engaged, 100 attended training workshops and 20 became ‘Waste Warriors’ committed to setting up the waste bank and actively promoting its development and use in the community.
Kondangjajar is the eighteenth village that we have helped establish a Waste Bank; together the Waste Banks process tons of waste annually, reducing pollution on land and sea alike.
CLEAR will extend its work with both villages and schools as funding becomes available. Make a one-off or regular donation and help stop ocean plastics.
