Stunning blue skies for our latest beach clean day! 45-50 of around 70 people present were local villagers and families, so for a large part of the effort we can congratulate the green-minded locals of Batukaras, including young surfers from Reefbreak club. Starting in the early afternoon, we carefully swept and cleaned the beach of non-organic waste.
Our friends from BaGoes Inc. joined us as well! Their mission is “to help people reduce plastic bag consumption by creating the best reusable bags.” Learn more about them at http://bagoes.co.id.
The wildlife of our coasts are severely affected by plastic pollution.
With an estimated five bags of trash per square foot of coastline, we need volunteer beach cleans like these worldwide. Thanks to all who participated in beautifying the beaches of Batukaras!
Special thanks to Bagoes, Reef Break Batukaras, Villa Monyet, and KKN UPI, and community leader Pa Amir.
Congratulations on your latest Beach Clean! It’s really important. Keep up the good work and Thank You!
